A Word From Ken and Angela

At the start of the 21st Century our congregations are challenged to be relevant and supportive of today's population in their search for meaning, community and outreach to do good works.  We have as a key goal supporting the empowerment of our liberal religious leadership to do the transformational work that will support these needs.

Leading change and transition, aligning vision and mission with the way the congregation is organized and operates is vital to the ministry of any congregation.  Further, we believe that developing and living out shared ministry and engaging congregations in models of stewardship and generosity will enable dynamic, growing congregations that transform individuals and communities.  As liberal religious people we have a message that is much needed—Acceptance of Diversity. Hope, Peace, and Love.  How we "do church" determines how effective we are in that work.

The 21st Century of globalization, the digital age and the changing role of the religious community challenges the leadership of our congregations to meet needs of a wide range of people from differing generations and religious points of view.  We believe that dealing intentionally with these challenges within the context of each congregation’s vision and mission is key to developing transformational communities of faith.

View from the Mountains

Among those whose work we draw on is Ron Heifetz who asks leaders to get on the balcony and look at the big picture -- we like the imagery of the view from the mountains -- getting the big picture of what it means to be a leader in a congregation in the 21st century.
